Throughout their entire time at the Starswirl Music Festival, Adagio Dazzle of the Dazzlings has been in a constant bad mood as she cannot get over the fact that she and her sisters are stuck in the rather pathetic Human World and are unable to use their natural Siren magic to get people to do what they want. Because of her consistently crummy mood, the eldest Siren becomes prone to angrily lashing out at anybody who annoys her, from disruptive audience members to even her own sisters. Sonata Dusk (ever the optimist) attempts to get her older sister to focus on the more positive aspects of life and tells her that she needs to just ‘laugh a little more’, but Adagio refuses to Sonata’s advice and carries on with her aura of negativity. At one point, Sonata tried to get Aria Blaze to help her, but the purple-hued Siren claimed it was a lost cause and tells her sister to just give up. However, while browsing around the festival vendor stall, Sonata finds something at one particularly desolate stall that may be just the thing she needs to cheer up her older sister: a purple-colored spray called Giggle Gas. According to the vendor, the gas causes anyone who is sprayed by it to break out into an uncontrollable fit of laughter for 30 minutes (or more) due to the gas hyper-stimulating the laughter functions of the brain. To prove his point, the vendor sprays a little bit of the gas on Sonata and to her surprise, the blue-skinned girl finds herself laughing like a madwoman, causing a few festival-goers to give her unusual looks. After about 10 minutes, the gas wears off and (after regaining her composure) Sonata purchases a bottle of the gas with the intention of using it on Adagio. However, while he does sell her the item, the vendor warns her not to spray too much gas on her sister as that will cause the effects to last longer, which could lead to her suffering from asphyxiation….
 
Later that evening, after another one of the Dazzlings’ performances, Aria heads off to check out some of the other bands and Adagio is about to (begrudgingly) join her, but Sonata insists that the eldest Siren follow her back to their tour bus as she has something to show her. When the two sisters get there, Sonata heads inside the bus (with Adagio waiting outside) and comes back a minute later with the bottle of Giggle Gas in her hand, claiming that it’s a new perfume she bought earlier and wants Adagio to see if it smells good. But when Adagio refuses to do this, Sonata just douses her sister with the gas anyways, causing a small cloud of purple smoke to form around her head. The yellow-skinned girl begins coughing as she inhales the foreign substance, but is confused when she finds herself starting to giggle. The giggling eventually starts to escalate and, within a minute, Adagio is laughing her head off for seemingly no reason. She tries desperately to stop herself so that she can yell at Sonata for doing this to her, but it’s no good. The gas has already caused her brain to go haywire and there is little she can do but just submit to its effects. Eventually, the eldest Siren loses her footing due to her forced laughing fit and is soon rolling around on the ground in hysteria, claiming that she is going to strangle Sonata when the gas wears off. All the while, Sonata herself just watches on in delight, happy that she was able to get her sister to laugh for a little while….
