21st Apr 2020, 6:00 AMAuthor: GreatDinnGuest Author’s Note: “Equestria Girls (Cafeteria Song)! AKA The catchiest tune in the movie. It’s not my favorite, but the lyrics are so beat you over the head that it’s near impossible to forget. Did you think I was going to do a fun rewrite of this, a la Pinkie’s songs in FID proper? So did I! Turns out I’m very bad at it, and my attempts have been flushed to the U-Bend of Time. They’ll hit me at 3AM two years from now and make me sweat in cold shame, but for now: out of sight, out of mind.I like letting players justify weird maneuvers based on the general shape of the move they’re actually attempting. I understand why DM’s are hesitant to do so; justify something once, and it’s nigh on impossible to put that worm back in the can. But with the right group of players, it’s a push and pull. And hey, the more you let it happen, the more lateral your puzzles can start to get, which can lead to some interesting tales in their own right.”
Transcript:
Twilight Sparkle: I’m going to use Spike to secretly start the actual music.
PP: I also wasn’t totally joking about the Traveler’s Chant. Making everyone move a little faster seemed useful.
RT: I’d like to use a Tactical Trick. Identify students who aren’t paying attention and give them a nudge in our direction.
RD: Same idea but bigger! Brutal Slam as a chair dive!
FS: I’d like to roll Diplomacy again. To point out how different we all are, yet how we’re working together.
AJ: An’ ah’ll help!
MD: This has to be the weirdest flash mob I’ve ever imagined.
AJ: Do ya imagine a lotta flash mobs?
MD: …go on.
