A last picture before I leave for the holidays. I wanted to draw these characters for quite a while and now finally got around to finish an pic of themMan this one sure was a challenge. The owner of these two, avatarjk137, can assure you of that considering how much I kept noting and mailing him to make sure I got the details right. At least I only used two drafts until it got just right.Meet Black Egg and White Snow. Conjoined twins and former circus freak and cult member. Left the cult when the leader made all the members kill themselves and the two decided to torture and kill him more for the fun of that than actual revenge. They are currently locked up in the high security prison wing underneath the Canterlot Castle, sentenced to never see the sky again for their crimes of hurt and murder after the cult thing. They work as background characters in Avatar’s blog about his pony OC Red Velvet redvelvetrecalls.tumblr.com/ You can read more details about these two here http://fav.me/d5o5mf8Name: Black Egg and White SnowSpecies: Unicorns (conjoined)Gender: MaleAge: 37Cutie Mark: A radioactivity symbol (or trefoil) built into a snowflake. White Snow has a white snowflake on a solid black circle, while Black Egg’s symbol is black in a black ring, set against the silver of his normal fur. Due to being conjoined, each has only one Cutie Mark.Description: These unicorn stallions are conjoined along White Snow’s right side and Black Egg’s left, sharing a middle foreleg and rear leg. Their necks and heads are entirely separate, as are their tails. They have white and black roan fur patterns and manes and tails of dark grayish-blue in streaks of two tones. Their fur is unkempt and wild, and their manes and tails spike out – in the case of their manes, in all directions. They stand at about Shining Armor’s height but are leaner, and with their posture they don’t always stand up straight. White Snow has a broken stump of a horn, while Black Egg’s left eye is milky and blind, a scar running over it. Their remaining eyes are electric blue. They have rough, hoarse voices, damaged by years of shouting and screaming; White Snow’s voice is almost an octave higher than Black Egg’s.Occupation/History: The twins were born to a middle-class family in the suburbs Los Pegasus, and surprised their doctors by growing up strong and healthy. Less surprisingly, they grew up isolated and friendless, and their parents died in a wagon crash when they were barely into adolescence. They had only each other and books, until a con pony named Argent Tongue recruited them as part of a cult he was running based on old Discordian teachings. Argent Tongue played his congregation for fools, securing loads of money from them and getting them all to commit suicide – except the twins, who held back on a whim. When they realized the truth, they hunted Argent down and publicly tortured and executed him, then began attacking the crowd. They were only stopped when a spell was cast that turned them on each other, causing White Snow to gouge out his brother’s eye with his horn, and Black Egg to magically shatter the guilty horn. They continued to believe in their cult, trying to use their trial’s publicity to spread the word, and have since spent nearly fifteen years in the Canterlot Maximum Security Dungeon.Personality: Sadistic, scheming, and playful. The main difference in their personalities lays in overall energy level. White Snow has more restraint and a calmer demeanor that makes him seem more reasonable compared to his twitchy, obviously unhinged brother. Black Egg also wears his heart on his sleeve, while White Snow shows a passable capability to hide his emotions. Do not be fooled by this visible difference – both of them are quite mad, but both of them are also quite capable of crafting long-term plans and schemes. Both of them are, in their own way, devout, and they value trust and don’t handle betrayal well. The two will occasionally express a lonely side, but they’ve long since learned to feed their need for social interaction with hatred and disgust instead of sympathy or friendship, so any such moments of vulnerability are soon spoiled – almost always intentionally. In their minds, they always have each other, and that’s all they’ll ever need – so you’re just another target on their mission to spread hatred. If they hurt you enough, they’re pretty sure you’ll start hating them…Abilities: Black Egg and White Snow, together, pose a magical threat of great magnitude. Both are unicorn wizards of moderate talent, and like Twilight Sparkle, their studies-before-friends childhood allow them to harness their talent to the fullest. Unlike Twilight Sparkle, Black Egg and White Snow always have a partner at hand who is perfectly in-sync with them, mentally and physically, and since friendship is the prime rule in their universe, teamwork increases the power of magic exponentially. White Snow’s ability to cast focused magic is greatly hampered with a broken horn, but he’s capable of crafting a stopgap solution with nothing but aluminum foil. Both are capable of casting a wide variety of magics thanks to their studies, but they specialize in different, but complimentary and powerful fields of magic – White Snow specializes in ice, which he uses for defense and to capture foes, while Black Egg’s special magical talent is radiation. In addition, the twins are hard to sneak up on, since they instinctively focus their awareness in different directions. Although they aren’t capable of much running or other serious athletics, they’re quite healthy for conjoined twins. They’re highly enthusiastic readers with a lot of eclectic knowledge (especially about magic), and are generally quite intelligent and adept at all fields besides social interaction. Finally, they’ve been at the prison longer than any of their (coherent) cellmates, so they know ways to exploit the nature of the prison that no other pony knows.I’m quite happy with how this turned out, though maybe the silver grey of their coat might have turned out a bit too dark. The challenge was the conjoined look, but also to get each twin on the right side, which had to be switched around after the first draft. Their cutiemarks were quite difficult to get right too, took me a while to envision them well enough so that I could actually draw them. Now I just hope this is all right now. Either way, I’m proud of this one. Just look at them maniac sweeties. Ready to kill you slowly 83Black Egg & White Snow + Red Velvet © avatarjk137
