Yes, I’m still good with compiling. XD
No, you don’t need to step down or whatever. You do need to calm down and stop looking at this in some sort of perpetual corporate scheduling timeline shenanigans though. If it takes a month for the background, then so be it. If it takes 3 months, then that is fine too. Trying to force any sort of deadline on anything at all just should not be done right now. I don’t mind if it takes the better part of a year… but I am also super patient. Also… when you pose a question for something, you have to give much more then a single day or less for people to agree or disagree with it or to pose questions of their own about it. I will most likely reply to stuff when I see it… but I might only see that there is a question once or twice a day. So if I miss that unspoken timeframe you set for yourself and you just go ahead with something on your own, then no discussions were made. That lack of a reply doesn’t immediately mean people agree after all. :)
If ya peek at the other forum for my post there I mentioned some stuff for everyone. Hopefully we can all work out stuff through that path for both transparency on this whole thing and discussions involving it.
As for both of ya, don’t worry and don’t stress about any sort of timeframes here. Also don’t look at some delays as some sort of dire make or break scenario for this. It doesn’t matter if it’s delayed in any aspect at all here. But juggling timeframes all over the place, submission start times, or other matters really shouldn’t be done. If people want to start submitting now, then they can. Saying otherwise is very confusing to people. Even I’m a bit confused about some of this back and forth with you two and I’m supposed to be somewhat apart of it. Don’t stress to people about the theme chosen in general. If anyone wants to submit anything that falls into our current rules then they can. If they want to dress their character as something entirely unrelated to the theme then they can if they want…. there should be no limits or expectations on that at all. Throwing around too many rules for things can often be worse then not having enough rules in the first place. Some people might have even shied away from this a bit due to volatility of the rules as they stand as well. Trying to word your posts as vaguely corporate or business-like or otherwise a bit too wordy (coming from me as I usually talk in paragraphs XD) might be counterproductive to what we want here…. which is for everyone that wants to participate, should freely be able to participate. Talk of proposed plans, putting the project to sleep, freezing submissions, and deadlines isn’t really the type of wording that should be used for what was supposed to be a simple community fan project.
Overall we just need to stay calm about this whole thing. While my part doesn’t really come in until at the end of this thing, Twi’s should mostly just be compiling the information and Feather’s is just background details and assets. If questions and concerns are brought up either by one of us or by another user, then we should all address it and not try to rush to provide an answer unless it’s either something previously brought up or something simple.
Anything pertaining to limits should mainly be between Feather and myself as he’s getting the background design laid out and I will be the one sorting everything into place on the final piece. While I don’t care how many or few submissions we get at all, Feather might have only so much space we could work with on the final background design so some limits on his part should be considered. But, keep in mind, characters can be easily resized for the most part and I will try to even out all of their heights before I start laying them out.
Stuff pertain to rule wordings can be more on Twi. But we can all chime in on that to be sure it’s clear for everyone and in plain text.
I will still deal with the end composition and any questions relating to it. Such as people who want or don’t want certain characters next to each other. Or a specific area someone wants their character at. That sort of thing.

Okay, just to keep you two up to speed with the situation… >.<
My vector artist has been quite busy lately, which is one of the reasons I’ve been put under time stress with this and getting so butthurt over the deadline being set. Now that we’ve rolled that back, I can give you my predicted itinerary for proceedings. Keep in mind this is an optimistic projection, assuming nothing goes wrong, not an uncompromising blood-oath of certainty. <:3
He plans to start this week, and we’re hoping the background and assets can be completed by the end of August. Note I said “hoping” there. This was one of the other reasons why the September deadline just wasn’t an option, there would have been no time for people to look at the scene at get something commissioned specifically for it.
Once that’s done however, I do have a pre-existing agreement with him to work on some vectors…not for myself or the collab, as a birthday present for my friend on the 23rd of September. As a result, my guy won’t be able to work on entries for the month of September and anyone who buys from him (including me and my friends) stands to miss out.
So, assuming this timeline holds up and there are no major delays, here’s what I propose: We release the image and assets when they’re done, which hopefully will be at end of August. We then let people mull over it for September before setting a soft deadline for the first week of November.
Let me know what you both think of that suggestion. And of course keep in mind, the demands of reality can easily alter this schedule at any time without warning, remember this is an optimistic, best-case-scenario timeline where everything goes smoothly.

I suppose I don’t mind on that for the most part. Either way though, unless someone is willing to do a free commission for me, I doubt my character(s) will be getting in on this as I can’t really do much for art myself. Although I could just grab an older piece from a previous collab on here or Derpi to throw in I suppose… but I’m not sure about that yet. However, making edits to stuff I’m fairly good at in minor scales at least. So if need be I can do some touch-ups or little edits to any submissions that we get. Such as transparency alterations, scaling, minor color or linework touch-ups, etc.
As for my part I won’t count myself as an artist by any means and intend to just use the editor: tag for myself when posting the finished piece.
Overall though I would simply say to ignore any thoughts of deadlines of any sort about this project and just let it flow on it’s own for now. After we get the background and we start getting some submissions in, only then can we actually look at a more solid deadline. Ballparking dates right now isn’t too reasonable considering the several variables we have currently with this. Just let people know that specific themed poses can’t be determined yet due to not knowing how the assets will look. However general poses such as sitting or standing can be freely done without issue… even with themed outfits or just outfits/accessories of any sort. Just know that if anyone has a specific pose/action in mind for the theme that they can still make it beforehand if it’s more of an easily placed one. (sitting looking at something, holding a drink, having an arm/hoof raised such as for slots or in frustration at losing a game, or potentially standing looking at something) Those can all be a little more readily placed at a given location… but they would run the risk of not quite matching up with the layouts of certain machines or tables. So if people are fine with that minor risk, then go for it. Or just simply wait a while for the background and assets.
Either way, we should all just have a fun and relaxed time with this. No rushing, no time crunches, no arbitrary limits on stuff. Just let it be open. I will be the one sorting it all out in the end anyway and I don’t mind it.

Sounds good, I’m not eager to impose any deadlines myself, I was just offering a timeframe to show that things are in fact, happening on my end. I admit, it’s an optimistic one, assuming nothing goes wrong.

I think that’s a good outline of our responsibilities.
no arbitrary limits on stuff.
We should probably keep the 20 character limit for flying poses, which I think we all agreed on. 20 is an arbitrary number, but the limit itself was borne out of the limitations of the setting, so I wouldn’t consider it ‘arbitrary.’
@FeatherTrap
Thank you for the predictions. That really puts things into perspective.
We will wait patiently until your artist is done.

I didn’t know we had set a flying character limit at all as I don’t recall it being talked about yet. Unless there’s a third forum section you are talking in about it as I never browse forums outside of banner posts about them.
Flying poses will be entirely up to the background’s design. If it’s going to be a more traditional styled casino then there probably isn’t a lot of ceiling height to work with in that case. If it’s more along the lines of a Las Pegasus styled thing, then it shouldn’t be too much of an issue as that would be made with pegasai in mind in the first place so there would be plenty of upper room. Maybe even floating game tables on clouds. :3
There is always the possibility that I could play around with the depth of the scene as well. So have some characters in the foreground while others might be in the background. That way it’s not just a wall of characters but would make the scene look a little more lively to begin with as there’s supposed to be some level of interaction with the scene itself by some characters. So putting everyone around as if they are posing for the camera wouldn’t really work if the scene itself is supposed to be part of it and not simply a floor to line everyone up on.
Mainly it’s just a simple waiting game for us while we wait on background specifics. Even if we have a lot of flying characters, I can always play around with scene depth to make it work out.

The question was brought up on the first page of the other thread. Since it’s indoors we assumed there would be limited space. I proposed having a character cap, FeatherTrap said 20 so I put it in the rules (tentatively).
I suppose we won’t know exactly how many we can fit until we get the background. Adjusting the depth is also a great idea

If only we had gone with a ‘haunted ski resort’ theme instead, it would.

They jmade us a channel in the Discord server.
That kind of makes this thread obsolete, but we could keep using it if we want to.

That’s fine by me I suppose. But if you all have rule adjustments or otherwise need my input on something more readily then just ping me there. I scarcely talk to anyone via social stuff openly so I rarely have need to check channels for stuff so pinging me is your best bet. Or just a direct message would work.

Well, that and all the new things we’ve talked about. I don’t think most people are aware they need to make reservations for flyer slots rn for example

This really isn’t so much a rule as it is just a limitation. That limit still mostly depends on how the space is looking on the background design. It’s unlikely we will have too many fliers to begin with so I wouldn’t worry about it too much as of yet.
For right now though we are mainly in a waiting phase between the background completion and submission entries. I’m patient so I’m certainly in no rush. Just poke me if ya need me for anything though.
