Description

The Legend of Harmony

The Legend of Harmony is a crossover between The Legend of Zelda and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

In the concept, the player controls the boy Spike, who has been an
assistant of the wizard Twilight Sparkle for as long as he can remember.
Twilight Sparkle is about to be promoted to the rank of a princess, due to her honors and awards.
A great ceremony of bestowing the title upon her was announced, which
will take place in the Canterlot Castle, [in] the capital of the
country.

Many preparations have to be made for this great event, and
the city and the village of Ponyville, which is situated very close to
Canterlot, are under a lot of stress.

Prologue

Spike overslept and is way too late. He has to hurry more than everyone else to catch up.
The first thing the player has to do is to head to Raritys tailoring
workshop/clothing shop and obtain the ceremonial tunic for the event.
After a certain amount of self-praise by Rarity, the player get the
typical look of Link, with changed colors.

Just as Spike is going to head to the castle, something shakes the earth, and an ominous
buzzing can be heard. Many villagers, the Mane Six among them,
gather in the village square, wondering what it could be.

It doesnt take long till a swarm of Changelings under the command of Queen Chrysalis
descends upon the village and starts attacking the castle. The Mane Six
decide to head to the castle, helping where they can. Spike has to be
asked twice, because he is visibly afraid.

Because of that, the player comes to the castle later than the Mane Six, of whom there is no
trace. Entering the castle through the main entrance is impossible,
because the gate has already been destroyed and the guards are busy
fighting the Changelings. The player have to look for another way into the castle, probably a secret passage.

Dungeon 1 Canterlot Castle

Entering the secret passage, the player stumbles upon the guard officer Shining
Armor, who lies defeated on the ground, unable to stand up. He explains
to Spike that the forces of the Changelings were superior/outnumbered
the guards and could not be repelled. It would be just a matter of time
until they captured the entire castle. Furthermore, he says that Spike
is the last hope of Princess Celestia against Queen Chrysalis. After
that, Shining Armor hands over his sword and shield to Spike, and these
become his very first items. Then Shining Armor loses consciousness and
the player continues on his way through the catacombs.

After a short route of simple slide puzzles and critter enemies, the player finds a chest of valuables in a prison cell.
The lantern Noonlight, with which the player is able to illuminate an
area around him and light torches when in close proximity. He can also
set fire to the slimy nets and cocoons of the Changelings. This is
needed to get further through the dungeon and enter the castle.
The castle is filled with Changelings, who are numerous but easily defeated.
Everywhere there are nets and cocoons, which can hide secrets or hidden passages.
Among them is a very obviously placed one, from which someone cries out for help.
It turns out that there is a little fairy inside, who would have suffered a certain death if Spike hadnt come along.
The fairy Derpy decides to team up with Spike and help him with his quest.

After the player obtains the Unicorn-Key, which acts like the Master-Key,
he can enter the throne room, where he finds Princess Celestia, cocooned and unconscious.
Meanwhile, the first boss appears behind him.

Lifedraining Insectoid Queen Chrysalis
Aside from simple attacks and pushing the player away if he tries to attack
her with the sword, Chrysalis is capable of climbing the nets onto the
walls and the ceiling. While there, she can attack with projectiles or
summon new changelings through the windows of the hall.
While she is climbing, the player has the opportunity to ignite the nets she is using to climb with the lantern.
The boss then falls down and becomes stunned and vulnerable to sword attacks.

After the boss is defeated, she escapes, cursing and taking her Changelings with her.
Then the player is able to free Princess Celestia.
The Princess thanks Spike profusely, implying that she knew how much
courage the boy had in him. She reveals a secret he didn’t know himself:
he is descended from dragon ancestry, which seems to manifest now.
Proudly, she presents him with the Seal of the Sun for his heroic actions.
Furthermore, she explains that she was trying to seek the help of her sister
Princess Luna as well as of Princess Cadence from the Crystal Empire,
but without success. It seems that something happened to the other
places too. In addition to that, she can’t feel the presence of the Mane Six anymore.
It’s up to Spike to solve this mystery.
But first, he is asked to find out what happened to Princess Luna. She is supposed to
be in her residence in the Everfree Forest. The seal that he was given
will help him to get past the residences gate.
To help Spike, Celestia gives him another present, the gift of magic born of his dragon ancestry, which was dormant in him.

With this magic, the player is able to perform a fiery breath with the help
of his lantern. Spike infuses the flame of the lantern with power, which
can now reach farther.

Then, Spike heads to the Everfree Forest.
